This is a simple craft activity where you can incorporate many mathematical concepts such as:
- shapes: square, triangle, heart – can also talk about the properties of the different shapes e.g. the square has 4 equal sides, 4 corners…
- colors
- counting & number recognition: children can count how many buttons are there (e.g. all the buttons or red buttons only…) and they can find the corresponding number on for example printed number flashcards – in that way, one would be able to revise number recognition too.
